World AIDS Day 2025

Discover how you helped celebrate World AIDS Day this year

Every December 1st GLAAD and rest of the world honor those we’ve lost, uplift those living with HIV, and commit to a future where accurate, affirming stories help saves lives. At the end of November, HIV Unwrapped, a runway experience that pairs HIV scientists with emerging designers, became available to stream on Hulu. On World AIDS Day, Donja R. Love announced Andrew Russell as the 2025 recipient of the Write It Out! Prize for playwrights living with HIV and AIDS while previous GLAAD Honorees used their respective platforms to commemorate the day. The first public screening of the new documentary The Power of Emory COMPASS took place in Atlanta on December 3rd.

With the help of supporters like you, GLAAD will continue to celebrate advocates, artists, content creators, and community leaders using their voices to challenge misinformation and reimagine what HIV representation looks like in media.
