So when Trump goes online and suggests he can grant Tina Peters a pardon, you need to know one thing: Trump has no constitutional power to issue this pardon.

Tina Peters is in Colorado state prison because she broke the law and was convicted by a jury of her peers. One of the U.S. Constitution’s basic principles is that the President’s pardon power is for federal crimes only, not state crimes.

Trump is not above the law. He thinks he can pressure and bully people to his will. That will not work here. We have sued him 45 times (and counting!), and are winning again and again. I will always stand up for you, fight for what is right, and protect Colorado.
