John,

Right now, there are two Americas: one for the wealthy and well-connected, and one for everyone else.

Across Massachusetts, I meet families who are doing everything right and still falling behind: rent that jumps every year, healthcare that feels one surprise bill away from disaster, and an education system that costs more and delivers less opportunity. Meanwhile, President Trump’s policies keep making his billionaire friends even wealthier.

That’s wrong. And it’s un-American.

On Friday, I introduced my American Affordability Agenda [[link removed]] - a Democratic plan to declare housing, healthcare, and education as human rights. It’s part of my answer to MAGA’s Project 2025 - not just opposing Trump, but offering a positive vision that fights forward for working families.

Here’s what it means:

Housing is a human right. We’ll crack down on private equity firms buying up homes, help first-time homebuyers, protect renters, and build the housing Massachusetts needs.

Healthcare is a human right. We’ll extend ACA subsidies, lower prescription drug costs, expand access to maternal care, and create a strong national public option that forces insurers to compete and bring premiums down.

Education is a human right. We’ll guarantee universal pre-K, expand workforce training, end predatory student lending, and modernize education so our kids are prepared for AI and the jobs of the future.

And we’ll pay for it by making the ultra-wealthy finally pay their fair share, through a national wealth tax on mega-millionaires and by closing tax loopholes that reward the wealthiest and most well-connected.

Here’s the truth: this agenda won’t happen on its own. The lobbyists and billionaires who like things exactly the way they are will fight it every step of the way. That’s why I’m asking you to help power this campaign.

If you can, please chip in $3, $30, or whatever you’re able today to help us build this movement and make it real: [[link removed]]

I’m running because families are getting squeezed – and Washington isn’t responding fast enough. With your help, working families can finally get a fair shot again.

Thank you for being in this with me.
