Dear John,
This Saturday, December 13, 2025, marks the birthday of the United States National Guard. Since 1636, citizen-soldiers have stood ready to defend our nation, our families, and our God-given freedoms.
At Truth & Liberty, we believe their service is not only patriotic, but deeply biblical. Scripture says:
“Greater love has no one than this, than to lay down one’s life for his friends.”
— John 15:13 (NKJV)
The men and women of the National Guard juggle jobs, families, church, and community life. Yet they remain ready at a moment’s notice to respond to disasters at home and threats abroad. They embody the duty, sacrifice, and courage that help preserve our constitutional republic and protect the rights our Creator gave us—not government.
On this National Guard birthday, would you join us in:
-
Thanking God for every Guardsman and their families
-
Praying for their protection, wisdom, and strength
-
Teaching the next generation to honor those who wear the uniform and to understand why a free people must remain vigilant
Let’s also recommit ourselves to doing our part as citizens—standing for truth, strengthening our families, engaging in our communities, and defending liberty wherever God has placed us. A strong, moral, and courageous people at home is one of the best ways we can support those who serve in uniform.
Father, today we lift up the men and women of the National Guard. Bless them, protect them, and give them courage and clarity in every assignment. Strengthen their marriages and families. May they know Your Son, Jesus Christ, and walk in Your peace and power. In His name we pray, amen.
To all current and former members of the National Guard who may be reading this: thank you. We honor you, we pray for you, and we stand with you.
