Americans can only live happy, productive, safe lives if they take care of their health. And they can only take care of their health if they have affordable health care.

That’s why affordable health care isn’t just AN issue; it’s THE issue. I made it a centerpiece of my campaign for Senate, and it’s been a major priority during my first year in office. 

All the while, Republicans have been working just as hard to take your health care away.   

They’re preparing to raise health care premiums for millions and millions of Americans, just after they forced several more million off of Medicaid.

I’m pushing back, and I hope you’ll join me. My team and I put together this urgent petition to show that a) we have the numbers on our side, and b) that our commitment to affordable health care is unshakeable. Please, for the sake of a healthier future, will you add your name today?

Fortunately, the state of Maryland is gearing up to provide relief for working families. But many Americans will either be forced to cough up two, three, or four times more for health insurance, or lose their coverage altogether.

Health care is at the very top of my to-do list at this moment. I will vote to continue federal health care funding because it’s not only the RIGHT thing to do, it’s the SMART thing to do. 

But if Republicans refuse to fix this crisis, (and it seems likely they will), then I need to know you won’t give up the fight.
