Everyone deserves to live independently and with dignity.

But for too many of us, the very real fear of scammers who target our elderly and most vulnerable makes that right to live independently a challenge for many of us and our loved ones. That's especially true around the holidays, when scams go into overdrive.

For the peace of mind of our caretakers, seniors, and families, we have to stay one step ahead of these bad actors.

That's why I’m leading the bipartisan GUARD Act, which will bring new technology and innovation to our sheriff’s offices and police departments through utilizing existing grant programs.

Officers will also receive specialized training on financial fraud and online scam detection.

By taking scammers on, we can remove billions of dollars in theft that affects over 65 million Americans every year.
