Justice Democrats just endorsed Nida Allam in North Carolina’s 4th district because she will be a progressive champion for working-class people in Congress. But if that’s not enough, let us tell you about her opponent.
Valerie Foushee, NC-04’s current representative, is simply unprepared to meet this current moment.
The Durham area is being hit hard by Trump’s attacks, as communities there face rising healthcare costs, creeping authoritarianism and ICE raids, and the highest number of federal DOGE funding cuts of any district in the country.
What's been Foushee's response? Well, seemingly not much of anything. If you think not much is not enough anymore, split $5 between Nida’s campaign and Justice Democrats to help us send Foushee into retirement!
The reason for Foushee’s inaction is simple: she has more sponsors than a NASCAR team. Republican donors from AIPAC and the Crypto lobby alone dropped more than $4 million to buy her seat, and the corporate PAC checks haven’t stopped flowing.
Here’s just a sample of the other special interests corrupting her vote:
Foushee is bankrolled by the same corporate interests that are raising our healthcare, housing, and energy costs. She even received money from the PAC that actively lobbies against Medicare for All – despite signing on to the bill!
Clearly, working-class families can’t count on Foushee to have their backs — we have to vote her out next year.
NC-04 deserves a representative who stands up for all of us and fights back against ICE, Trump, Musk, Republicans, and corporate interests with every tool at their disposal to actually protect and support North Carolinians.
Justice Democrats endorsed Nida because she has the moral courage and track record to deliver for her community, and she has what it takes to win this race — but only if our movement steps up to support her right now.
