Democrat,

This week, Senate Republicans had one last chance before the holidays to stop ACA healthcare premiums from skyrocketing. What did they do? Block the legislation that would’ve stopped more money coming out of your pockets.

What’s the result? On January 1st, 22 million Americans will see their monthly healthcare premiums increase by an average of 114% and more than 1.5 million Americans will lose healthcare entirely.

Republicans time and again insist they’re good on the economy and they care about families’ budgets. But the truth is they don’t care about making life more affordable. They shrink from their responsibility to meet the needs of their constituents and only make matters worse. After making the biggest cut to Medicaid in history, Republicans remain hellbent on making health care even more expensive by refusing to extend the ACA tax credits.

The holidays are fast approaching and we all deserve some much needed rest and time with our friends and families. But in the new year, we’re hitting the ground running to elect Democrats up and down the ballot who will deliver on their promises to lower costs and send Republicans who ignore our nation’s problems packing.

I’d also like to wish everyone celebrating a Happy Hannukah! Our Jewish Caucus is hosting an in-person gathering on December 17 with special guest Lieutenant Governor-elect Dr. Dale Caldwell! RSVP here [[link removed]] to attend.

ALINA HABBA FINALLY RESIGNS

Alina Habba was never fit to serve as U.S. Attorney for New Jersey. This is a person who promised to help “turn New Jersey red” and pursued unjust, politically motivated charges against Newark Mayor Ras Baraka and Congresswoman LaMonica McIver.

The Trump administration took unprecedented action to install her in this position longer than the interim period allowed, after our Senators and others fought back against her nomination. Thankfully, last week the Third Circuit Court of Appeals ruled that she was serving in this role without legal authority. Habba had no choice but to resign..

This is a major win for our democracy and rule of law. New Jersey deserves a U.S. Attorney that is just, unbiased, committed to their oath of office, and, importantly, duly appointed.
