I’ll give him credit where it’s due. Americans have known for years that Democrats’ open-border policies led to chaos and it’s encouraging to finally hear an admission of responsibility. After all, admission is the first step towards recovery.
But Gavin and his fellow Democrats still have a long way to go.
Next, he should admit that the affordability crisis crushing American families is also the direct result of Democrat policies—especially here in California. Democrats have controlled the governor’s office for nearly 16 years and the state legislature for 30 years. The results speak for themselves: the highest gas and energy prices in the nation, the highest taxes, highest unemployment rate, and an explosion in homelessness.
I’d like to see Gavin admit that record of failure as well.
Meanwhile, Americans trusted Republicans in 2024 to clean up the mess—and over the last 10 months, we’ve delivered real results. I’ve helped lead the effort in Congress to tackle the affordability crisis and bring relief to working families. We still have more work to do, but policies like lowering taxes are already starting to ease the burden on Americans.
