Find out what Congressman Ken Calvert is working on for Riverside County and the people of the 41st Congressional District

Earlier this week, I voted along with a bipartisan majority of the House of Representatives to pass the National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA) for Fiscal Year 2026. The NDAA advances critical national security policies that are essential for achieving our defense goals. The bill takes care of our most precious national security assets, our servicemembers, by giving them a 3.8% pay raise as well as authorizing funding increases to build or make upgrades to barracks, family housing, healthcare, and childcare facilities. Every day Riverside and Orange County commuters experience congestion at the 91/241 interchange. That's why I have supported and advocated for the construction of a direct connection between the 91 Express Lanes and 241 Toll Road, which will also benefit general purpose lane drivers by reducing merging and weaving. I'm happy to report earlier this week the California Transportation Commission approved the toll authority to construct the project, moving us closer to making this a reality. It was great to meet with Riverside Police Chief Larry Gonzalez this week and discuss the federal and local partnerships to counter drug trafficking in our communities. In communities in California and across our country, we lose Americans to fentanyl-related deaths every day. It’s clear that we have to do more to stop this poison. That’s why I’ve cosponsored H.R. 2964, the Fight Fentanyl Act, to fund the High Intensity Drug Trafficking Areas program, which is key in equipping our officers with the tools necessary to combat the ongoing drug epidemic. The bill also ensures drug traffickers are punished to the full extent of the law. This life-saving bill is supported by law enforcement organizations, including the Fraternal Order of Police.

I had the opportunity to speak at the Israel Allies Foundation lunch this week in Washington DC about the importance of America’s relationship with our ally Israel. I believe we must continue to stand with Israel as we work towards a future in the Middle East that is marked by stability, peace, and prosperity for all.
