Welcome back to our weekly newsletter. Across Central Texas and rural America, families and small businesses remind us that the land of opportunity should not mean coastal opportunity. Entrepreneurs in Waco, farmers in Falls and Limestone Counties, and innovators throughout our region deserve the same access to capital and public markets as firms in major coastal hubs. Expanding investment pathways for rural and middle America is essential to keeping our economy strong and competitive.
That same commitment to protecting America guided my vote for this year’s National Defense Authorization Act. The NDAA gives our troops a well-earned 3.8 percent pay raise, strengthens readiness, codifies key executive orders from President Trump, and reinforces our nation’s peace-through-strength posture.
As a Senior Member from Texas, I remain focused on ensuring that opportunity reaches every community, that small businesses have the tools to grow, and that America stays secure, prosperous, and prepared for the future.

I remain committed to tackling these challenges with transparency, a readiness to work across the aisle, and a steadfast focus on protecting taxpayers and strengthening the long-term economic health of Texas and our nation.
National Border Patrol Council Meeting
Congressman Sessions welcomed the National Border Control Council to DC to speak about conditions on the border and how we can better protect our border patrol agents on the job.
Postmaster General Roundtable
The Oversight Subcommittee on Government Operations hosted Postmaster General David Steiner for a member only roundtable. This roundtable that I Chaired allowed members to meet the Postmaster General and discuss issues that are important to them and their districts.
Meeting with the Administrator of CMS, Dr. Mehemet Oz
We discussed a myriad of issues, but one that stood out was the treatment of Retinitis Pigmentosa (RP), a devastating disorder that causes progressive vision loss and blindness. Thankfully, new treatments that use gene therapy technology are becoming more available to Americans. As a champion for the blind community on Capitol Hill, I was encouraged to hear about the actions that CMS is taking to treat and prevent RP. I look forward to future discussions with Dr. Oz and will continue to fight for the blind community.
Introduced the Bipartisan REAL Act
I just introduced the bipartisan REAL Act with Congressman Bill Foster to bring transparency and accountability to how artificial intelligence is used by the federal government. Texans believe in straight talk and clear labels, and this bill ensures that when federal agencies, including the President and Vice President, use AI generated or manipulated content, the American people are clearly informed. Transparency builds trust, and this legislation is about making sure new technology is used responsibly and honestly.
