It has been the privilege of my life to serve this community – as a Councilmember, Mayor of the City of Glendale, representative in the State Assembly, and now your member of Congress.

I’ve always been a fighter for our progressive values. I’ve championed bold policies to create more affordable housing, protect our reproductive freedoms, protect local jobs, and make California a model for environmental sustainability and clean renewable energy.

Even when ‘they’ said it was impossible to cut outdated regulations, protect our environment, and make housing more affordable, I proved them wrong -- and I’m excited to keep delivering for you in Congress.

Unfortunately, delivering means less time doing my least favorite thing – fundraising. I don’t believe money alone should dictate whether or not I stay in office, but ever since Citizens United left the door open to unfettered money, I cannot completely ignore it.
