The COVID-19 pandemic has shown the importance of expanding the accessibility of health care throughout the country. Anyone who is sick should get to be treated without worrying about going broke, particularly during a global pandemic. Because when each of us is healthy, we all stay safer and healthier.

Unfortunately, The New York Times has just reported that during the pandemic, a record 5.4 million Americans have lost their health insurance.

This is bleak news, and reminds me why our fight for affordable health care is so important. In Congress, I have fought to defend the Affordable Care Act which gives insurance to 20 million Americans, voted to lower prescription drug prices, and helped protect coverage for people with pre-existing conditions.

I am fighting to make sure that Americans get access to health care and make sure health care is affordable. My opponent, on the other hand, wants to take away people’s health care in the middle of a pandemic.

Jim Bognet will repeal the Affordable Care Act, leaving 20 million people without affordable health care. Pre-existing conditions, including COVID-19, will no longer be covered -- leaving millions out in the cold when they need care the most.

This crisis calls for leaders who are willing to fight to ensure Americans have access to quality health care and insurance, not someone who wants to take it away. If you agree with me, I’m asking you to make a donation to my campaign so that I can go back to Congress and keep up this vital fight.
