Wesley and Jeremiah of The Lumineers here. For those of you who might not know us, we’re a band from Denver. Prior to COVID-19, we were in the middle of a worldwide tour, playing in sold out arenas.
But before the arenas and amphitheaters were an option, we had to cut our teeth in small, hole in the wall, independent venues — places that have been closed for months because of COVID-19.
These rooms are the foundation to developing your career as an artist.
When the pandemic hit, these theatres and concert halls were the first to close and will be the last to reopen. Unless Congress takes action, up to 90% of independent music venues could close permanently over the next next few months. [[link removed]]
That’s why we’re emailing you now. This week, we met up with Michael at the Boulder Theater to support the RESTART Act, his bipartisan bill to support small businesses hit hardest by the pandemic – like independent music venues – and the artists who rely on them.

It’s not just the artists who are affected. Bartenders, technicians, studio professionals, promoters and more will be economically devastated by these closures.
