On Tuesday, Democrats flipped a seat in the Georgia House of Representatives that’s been red for years, and our CER-supported local teams helped make it happen. This is exactly the kind of win your support makes possible. 

If you can pitch in $2, it helps us keep more local teams ready for moments like this.

Here’s what the Athens-Clarke County Democrats pulled off after the special election was announced just five weeks ago:

• 11,000+ doors knocked
• Nonstop phone and text banks
• Recruiting volunteers from Maryland, California, and everywhere in between
• Joint canvasses with Oconee County Democrats (another member of the CER program) across the entire district

They were able to spring into action so quickly because they’ve spent years investing in organizing infrastructure: volunteers, partnerships, and a team ready to go the moment the election was announced.

But here’s what worries me: We’re already behind on our December fundraising goal. 

This funding allows us to build infrastructure and win races, and without it, we have to scale back on investments in future races. That means fewer county teams supported, fewer volunteers organized, and fewer places where Democrats can compete.

This huge victory in Georgia shows what’s possible when local teams already have the infrastructure in place to win. But building that infrastructure for 2026 has to start now.
