Eliot Engel has conceded and the Associated Press called the race for our
campaign. With your support, our movement defeated a 31-year entrenched
incumbent in New York’s 16th District.

I’m ready to get to Congress and make trouble for the status quo, but I
need as many progressive fighters with me as possible in Congress next

campaign. They recruited me to run for Congress in the first place and
supported me every step of the way. JD raised over $200,000 for my
campaign through small-dollar donations through emails just like this one
and provided strategic guidance with our communications, field organizing,
and more.

It is incredibly difficult for working-class people like myself to run for
Congress. Our system is designed to protect entrenched incumbents and
discourage working-class people from running.

Justice Democrats is working every day to change the system and build
progressive infrastructure for more people like me to run and win. They’re
growing the Squad to be a powerful force in Congress.
