We know that those who want to dismantle a multiracial democracy are effective as storytellers. (I will concede that it's easier if truth, decency and accuracy are always negotiable.) We also know that if we are to prevail in this fight, we must be better storytellers.
Last month at our inaugural Just Narratives convening in St. Louis, hundreds of organizers, artists, and public-sector leaders gathered to share strategies for building the narratives that are the foundation of a just democracy. We learned from one another, developed strategies, and strengthened our cultural power.
