The Heritage Foundation flat-out threatened that ALL federal funding for the reliably red state would cease if state lawmakers failed to acquiesce to the wannabe dictator's demands. We've now reached the all-too-predictable point in the MAGA story arc where Republicans are now threatening to stop serving their own constituents if they don't capitulate to the whims of a power-crazed autocrat. It's worth noting that a proposal to impose a 10-year moratorium on state-level regulation of AI failed in the Senate this fall by a whopping 99-1 vote. Why Trump thinks a meaningless, "I hereby do declare" executive order will carry any weight at this point is anybody's guess, but he seems quite confident about who the bogey man under Big Tech's bed actually works for: "You can't go through 50 states. According to Mediaite, Greene is sounding out colleagues about backing a motion to vacate the chair, citing multiple anonymous sources. Under new House rules, nine Republicans would be needed to force such a vote, a threshold designed to prevent a repeat of the Kevin McCarthy implosion that famously paralyzed the chamber two years ago. Should Greene succeed, perhaps Johnson would finally find the time to catch up on all the various crimes, misdeeds, and transgressions Trump has committed that he's just been too busy to pay attention to!

The Trump regime might as well have just fed FBI National Security Branch Operations Director Michael Glasheen to the wolves yesterday. Instead, they trotted him out before a House Homeland Security Committee hearing with instructions to toe the Trump line on "antifa" being the biggest domestic terror threat in the United States today, despite absolutely no evidence existing to back up such a claim. Glasheen struggled to answer the most basic of questions. A visibly flummoxed Bennie Thompson, the ranking Democrat on the committee, gave Glasheen every opportunity to explain the FBI's position: "You said antifa is a terrorist organization. Tell us, as a committee, how did you come to that? Where do they exist? How many members do they have in the United States as of right now?" Glasheen sheepishly responded, "Well, that’s very fluid. It’s ongoing for us to understand that. The same, no different than al Qaeda or ISIS." To be clear, antifa is not a domestic terrorist organization. It might be a snappy name, but it's nothing more than a very reasonable reaction to the rise of actual fascism under Trump. It has no leader, no headquarters, and certainly no official membership. And no amount of kowtowing by ill-prepared FBI officials or MAGA sycophants will change that fact, but it sure will present plenty of opportunities for the Trump regime to embarrass itself on the public stage.

Yesterday, Donald Trump issued an utterly pointless federal pardon for Peters — a move that changes absolutely nothing. You might be wondering why the MAGA cult leader would bother with such a performative act for a random, former state official. The answer is quite simple: it has nothing to do with Tina Peters. Rather, it feeds his bullshit narrative that the 2020 election was stolen from him. "What you very clearly saw in that video was Mubashir, an American citizen, someone who has been here nearly his entire life, tackled, handcuffed, taken into custody … for simply walking down the street and looking like he’s Somali," Minneapolis Mayor Jacob Frey said during a news briefing. As if that wasn't bad enough, Kristi Noem's right-hand-fabricator Tricia McLaughlin brazenly lied about the incident, the way she does about every one of these crimes, claiming that Mubashir was "violently resisting" and that a crowd of "agitators" were threatening the officers. "Dystopian" doesn't even begin to describe the excesses and outrages of Donald Trump's Gestapo.
