John - The House just passed this year’s National Defense Bill.
And at the very last minute, Speaker Johnson and President Trump killed Marilyn’s bipartisan amendment to remove Confederate names from our military bases.
They even threatened to veto the entire bill to preserve the names of Confederate traitors who fought to uphold slavery. It’s reprehensible - and it has no place in America in 2025.
Congresswoman Marilyn Strickland proudly represents Washington’s 10th District. As the first Korean American woman and the first African-American to represent the Pacific Northwest in Congress, Marilyn made history. Now, she’s fighting for a fairer economy and a nation that is more safe, just, and secure.
