Winter is coming, and for many women and girls who have nothing to carry them through, a UNFPA Winter Dignity Kit may be the only humanitarian relief they get this year.

In regions where crises have destroyed every way of life including Gaza, Afghanistan, and Ukraine, women and girls are forced to choose between heat and hygiene or food and safety.

As the cold rain seeps into makeshift shelters and temperatures plummet, mothers try to keep their newborns warm and fed with no blankets or enough nutrition to breastfeed. Women and girls face their periods without menstrual supplies, forced to reuse soiled clothing with no access to clean water — enduring both cold and indignity. These Winter Dignity Kits provide essential items that provide dignity, health, and safety when everything else is gone.

In January 2025 in Gaza, gifts from supporters like you helped distribute: 22,723 winter clothes to women and girls, which included pajamas, winter boots, sweaters, and pants; 18,682 winterization shelter kits to families, including waterproof plastic tarps and blankets; and 1,248 kits that contained menstrual and hygiene products — so that even when wash and sanitation facilities flooded, women and girls could still care for themselves.

This winter will be brutal but supporters like you can provide for those in need and save lives. We’re calling on supporters to help us raise enough to cover the cost of 2,500 Winter Dignity Kits by December 31 [[link removed]?] to meet the urgent need.

“Women who experience violence often suffer from economic dependence as well. They may not even have money for basic hygiene items. That’s why these kits are not only about assistance, but also about support in a difficult moment, ” said Maryna , a specialist with the UNFPA mobile team of the Dnipro City Center of Social Services.

Each kit is filled with warm clothing, menstrual supplies, wool socks, mittens, winter hats, thermal tights, and a reminder that there is still hope because someone cares. Each kit costs just $15 — and right now a gift of any amount will be doubled. Your multiplied gift today can be the difference for women and girls when they need it most.

Will you make a gift of $15 or more now to help deliver 2,500 Winter Dignity Kits and be a lifeline to women and girls where vital sexual and reproductive health services are beyond reach in Gaza, Afghanistan, Ukraine and crisis regions worldwide? [[link removed]?]
