Hi John,
Thanks to your advocacy, 63 legislators – both Republicans and Democrats – have signed on as co-sponsors of the Water Pollution Notification Act.
The bill is on the move!
A public hearing is scheduled for the Senate Natural Resources, Veterans, and Military Affairs Committee on Thursday, Dec. 18 at 10 a.m. in the State Capitol, Room 201 Southeast.
In addition to the 60 stakeholders who signed our letter of support, other key public health and local organizations have registered in favor, including:
-
Wisconsin Public Health Association
- Wisconsin Association of Local Health Departments and Boards
- Wisconsin Counties Association
This bill is a common-sense step to ensure that every Wisconsinite has the right to know what’s in their drinking water, but it will likely challenge some corporate polluters. Legislators need to put impacted people first.
We need your help to show support across the state! Send a message to your legislators today, and if you’re interested in testifying at the State Capitol on Dec. 18, please email Government Affairs Manager Peter Burress at [email protected].
