Carbon Neutral Kitchen launch

Monday 9 September10am to 2pm

Oscar & Rosie's,8 Stoney Street,Nottingham NG1 1LP
CNK Logos

Carbon Neutral Kitchen is a package of support for local independent eateries and food manufacturers in Nottingham to reduce their eco impact.

It is known that 37% of greenhouse gas emissions come from the food supply chain and when it comes to reducing the ecological impact of our local food system, indie food businesses are an important part of the solution as customers who are aware of the impact of food on the environment are consciously shifting their custom to food businesses which reflect their concerns.

*Councillor Sally Longford, Portfolio Holder for Energy, Environment and Democratic Services, Nottingham City Council;*

"*The food and drink manufacturing sector in the East Midlands is one of the most productive in the country, with the D2N2 region being a major contributor.*"

"*Nottingham City Councils involvement with the Carbon Neutral Kitchens initiative really strengthens our role in creating the right environment for local SMEs to increase productivity, reduce waste and adopt innovative, sustainable practices in the sector.*"

The event, which is open to all independent food businesses, will feature lunch short talks and workshops.

*HMRC allocates EORI number to traders*

As many traders as possible will be automatically allocated an EORI number to enable them to trade smoothly once the UK leaves the EU on 31 October.

Every business will need an EORI number to move goods into or out of the EU after Brexit. HMRC is sending letters to all possible VAT-registered businesses over the next two weeks to advise them of their assigned UK EORI number.

If your business is not VAT-registered, you still need to register for an EORI number. Getting an EORI number is an easy process that takes 5-10 minutes.
