** 1. WATCH: NC House Oversight Confronts Chapel Hill Schools for Violating Parental Rights
------------------------------------------------------------

Earlier this week, the NC House Select Committee on Oversight and Reform held a critical hearing uncovering serious violations of parental rights within Chapel Hill–Carrboro City Schools. Lawmakers reviewed photo, physical, and video evidence showing how the district bypassed parents, withheld information about children, and pushed hyper-ideological materials in violation of North Carolina law.

This video captures key moments from the hearing—including testimony, committee questions, and the presentation of evidence. NC Values was on the ground to support legislators working to:
* Protect children from inappropriate and unlawful school practices
* Ensure parents are never cut out of decisions about their own kids
* Hold rogue school boards accountable to the North Carolina Constitution

Also check out this testimony ([link removed]) at the Cabarrus County School Board Meeting about what’s really going on around NC. In the video, a young female student discusses the discomforts she has been forced to endure after a biological male began using female private spaces at her school.

** 2. N&O: Democrats are Deceiving NC Voters with Party Switches. Cut It Out.
------------------------------------------------------------

"Kelly Van Horn, a teacher, has filed for the Republican primary in N.C. House District 105, which encompasses parts of south Charlotte and the Matthews area. According to records from the State Board of Elections, Van Horn has been a registered voter in North Carolina for decades, but changed her registration from Democrat to Republican in September.

It’s an unusual move, and it would likely accomplish nothing except potentially deceive and confuse voters who have been confused enough already — and it’s not the first time Democrats have done it this year. Van Horn doesn’t have a campaign website yet, but she told The Charlotte Observer she is running as a Republican 'because I want to give people a choice,' and would be an independent member of the legislature if elected."

** 3. USA TODAY: Supreme Court won't Hear Texas Book Ban Case, Keeping Titles Off Shelves
------------------------------------------------------------

"The U.S. Supreme Court on Dec. 8 declined to hear an appeal by a group of Texas residents challenging a local decision to remove more than a dozen books from public libraries, allowing the disputed books to remain off shelves. "

** 4. WORLD: Correcting the Record, the Name Change on Admiral Levine’s Official HHS Portrait is a Nod to Biological Reality
------------------------------------------------------------

"National Public Radio (NPR) is reporting that an official portrait hanging in the hallway the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) has been substantially altered, framing the change as a grave injustice to human rights. As on cue, a major gay publication employed the dreaded 'deadnaming' accusation. Compassionate people are expected to be deeply moved, it was implied, and bigots delighted.

What was the offending alteration?

HHS changed Admiral ā€œRachelā€ Levine’s official portrait to reflect his birthname: Richard Levine. President Joe Biden appointed Levine assistant secretary of health, the U.S. government’s highest ranking 'trans' official, in an effort to normalize transgenderism in healthcare. USA Today ridiculously named Levine 'woman of the year' in 2022."

** 5. NATIONAL REVIEW: Florida AG Sues Medical Activist Groups for Pushing Transgender Care on Minors
------------------------------------------------------------

"The state of Florida is taking action against three prominent medical activist organizations for pushing transgender operations on minors in violation of consumer protection and racketeering laws.

Florida Attorney General James Uthmeier (R) filed a lawsuit Tuesday against the World Professional Association for Transgender Health (WPATH), the Endocrine Society, and the American Academy of Pediatrics over an alleged coordinated push to encourage physicians to perform transgender procedures on minors despite the lack of evidence of their safety or efficacy."

** Weekly Prayer: Freedom
------------------------------------------------------------

LORD, you have blessed us with a spiritual liberty that is so wonderful and beyond description, that it can only be understood through experiencing a life-giving relationship with Christ. However, we also recognize that in your grace, you have blessed our country with a political liberty that enables us to openly proclaim the experience of a life lived in the freedom of the Gospel.

LORD, as individuals and as a nation, may we never take the inalienable right of religious freedom for granted. Right now our country has faced a rapid increase in the number of attacks made against this cherished right. We have seen groups across our public arena increase in boldness and frequency their smears against religious liberty. They claim it is bigotry, when we know it is the security of the greatest of all possible loves.

Be with your people and our country as it continues to protect the constitutional right protected by our nation’s Founders. Be with legislators and the Supreme Court, as they determine through their actions the protection of this particular and fundamental freedom.

ā€œIt was for freedom that Christ set us free; therefore keep standing firm and do not be subject again to a yoke of slavery.ā€ (Galatians 5:1)

ā€œFor you were called to freedom, brethren; only do not turn your freedom into an opportunity for the flesh, but through love serve one another.ā€ (Galatians 5:13)

ā€œAct as free men, and do not use your freedom as a covering for evil, but use it as bondslaves of God.ā€ (1 Peter 2:16)

Amen

Sincerely,

Tami & Team
