John -- reports show that Department of Homeland Security troops swept through Portland this week arresting protesters, without approval from local officials. They arrested protestors under the order of protecting federal monuments. Crazy.
Even more scary is the realization that these are the same troops that Trump can deploy to polling places on Election Day in the name of maintaing civil order. Trump is backed into a corner and we’ve already seen him both take drastic action to degrade faith in our elections and attempt to use armed troops to enforce his authority.
Voting from home is one tool we can use to protect access to our elections in 2020. We need you to contribute now to send mail-in ballot applications to voters in swing states so we can avoid the chaos and defeat Trump.

There was no warning that federal troops were fanning out across Portland with orders to arrest protesters, but we can and should take this as a red flag warning for what could happen in November to interfere with in-person voting.
We hate to scare folks, but we must prepare for the worst. With less than four months until the election, Trump is already using tools we once thought unimaginable.
He’s broken so many social norms: Siding with white supremacists, dividing our country, lying about vote-by-mail. Using federal troops to interfere with elections could be his next tactic to hold onto power.
We’re leading a grassroots movement to get mail-in ballot applications to swing state voters and then following up with texts and calls to ensure they can vote from home this fall. If you’re worried about how Trump could interfere in our elections, donate to our movement to make it easier for people to vote from home.
2020 is worse than anyone could have predicted. Let’s make sure we close out November by electing a new president.
Thank you,
Vote From Home 2020
