ICYMI: Why I’m calling to impeach RFK Jr.

Leaders must protect public health – no matter what

This week, I introduced articles of impeachment against Secretary of Health and Human Services Robert F. Kennedy Jr.

If you’re just catching up, let me explain why.

For months, I’ve been fighting back against RFK Jr.’s dangerous agenda. I demanded accountability and action, including leading a push to reinstate lifesaving research into pediatric cancer, HIV, and mRNA technology. I met with doctors and scientists across Michigan. I wrote legislation to restore critical cancer research programs that his department gutted, and I called on him to resign.

Impeachment is a serious step. And this wasn’t a decision I came to lightly. But the consequences of allowing RFK Jr. to remain in office would mean continued harm to families across Michigan and across the country.

Let me say this clearly: Secretary Kennedy is carrying out a pseudoscientific coup of America’s public health system. And that’s why doctors, scientists, and ten Nobel Prize winners have endorsed my articles of impeachment.

He’s fired trusted medical professionals. He’s dismantled lifesaving research. He’s created confusion, fear, and dysfunction at the very top of our public health infrastructure. And he’s done it all while peddling conspiracy theories, undermining scientific consensus, and misleading Congress.

This isn’t about politics. This isn’t about partisanship. It’s about doing what’s right for the American people.

This moment demands bold leadership. RFK Jr.’s chaos must be stopped.

I’ve heard from doctors across the country — including Republican physicians — who are alarmed by what’s happening inside the agency they rely on to care for patients and protect public health.

This is not normal. This is not acceptable. And it cannot be ignored.

When a cabinet official misleads Congress, undermines science, and spreads dangerous misinformation – that’s disqualifying.

When that same official stands beside the President of the United States as he tells pregnant women not to take Tylenol based on a conspiracy theory – that’s not just false, it’s dangerous.

And when he purges scientists and shuts down research into cancer, HIV, mRNA treatments, and addiction recovery – that’s devastating for families who are counting on medical progress to survive.

So no, I’m not going to stay quiet. I’m not going to back down. And I’m not going to wait for someone else to act – because the longer we wait, the more people will suffer.

I introduced these articles of impeachment because that’s what this moment demands.

This is a fight for public health. For science. For truth. And for the people I represent.

I’m proud to lead it.

With grit,
Haley

A personal note from Haley 👋

I’m a lifelong Michigander and the daughter of small-business owners. I’ve spent my career fighting for Michigan’s working families – and now I’m running for the U.S. Senate to keep standing up for the people I love.

But here’s the truth: Senate control could come down to Michigan. And Trump and his megadonors know it. That’s why they’re gearing up to spend tens of millions to defeat me and hand this seat to a MAGA Republican.

I need your help to fight back. This race will be one of the most competitive – and expensive – in the country, and I’m counting on grassroots support to win.

If you’re with me, will you chip in today?
