JOHN, There are only four moms in the Senate with children under 18. Four. No wonder we haven’t made progress on making child care affordable, passing paid family and medical leave, or increasing the minimum wage. Of course pushing for common-sense gun safety legislation is at a stalemate, since only four senators have to worry when they put their kids on a school bus in the morning. But JOHN, I am a working mom. My daughter is in elementary school, and my husband and I have both had to work multiple jobs in order to put food on the table for her. We’ve struggled to afford child care and worried about sending her to school in a country that values guns over our kids.
If we want to see change, we have to elect officials who will fight alongside us. Thank you for everything. Jennifer Jenkins
