Nikki’s mom and dad were in and out of prison throughout her childhood. Her grandparents ended up raising her. They provided stability, but she longed for a sense of connection and warmth from her parents.
At her grandparents’ home, God was not discussed positively. In fact, Nikki felt as though God—if He did exist—was to blame for much of what was going on in her life.
But things started to change when she received a gift from her dad at Christmas. Her family didn’t celebrate Christmas, but still she felt loved in that moment.
“It made me feel like my dad didn't forget about me,” says Nikki, “that he didn't just walk out and not think about me again, so it definitely made me feel loved.”
Years after receiving that gift, the seed that was planted in Nikki because of generous Angel Tree donors grew into a flourishing faith.
You can
help plant a seed in the lives of the approximately
1.5 million children in America like Nikki struggling with having a parent in prison. Like all children, they want a connection with their parent.
Bring back hope this Christmas for children with parents behind bars. Just because Mom or Dad can’t be home, doesn’t mean their love can’t shine through.
With your help, parents behind bars can show love to their children this Christmas season—and children can witness the Gospel firsthand through the Church. Don’t let these precious children experience Christmas without knowing there is someone out there who cares!
This Christmas, you can make hope possible for these hurting children—starting with a simple gift!!
Your generous gift can help bridge the gap between prisoners and their families. Through Angel Tree, you can help create a
pathway for prisoners to strengthen and restore relationships with their children and families, helping children avoid the cycle of brokenness that too often passes from one generation to the next.
When you donate, you help create a cycle of restoration.
In addition to restoring hope, your gift to Angel Tree will include:
- A Christmas gift selected specifically for the child.
- A note written from the child’s incarcerated parent.
- The chance to hear the real reason for the season: the story of Jesus’ birth!
- An opportunity to receive a beautiful, illustrated, full-text children’s Bible. The Bibles are available in English and Spanish.
- A lasting impact that extends beyond the holiday season. Through your generosity, you help show the love of Jesus to children with a parent in prison all year!
You can make a child’s Christmas hopeful again. Your gift of $300 will help provide this opportunity for
10 children with a parent in prison.
Give today to change a child’s Christmas—and life!
