END FAMILY SEPARATION  --  CARTOON AND COMMENTARY BY LALO ALCARAZ

We are all heartbroken when we hear about more and more families being
separated by ICE and this rogue Administration. This country has to
abide by its claims that it is pro-family, and stop ripping our
families apart.

RE: THE EMANCIPATION PROCLAMATION OFFERS A HINT ON WHAT THE SUPREME
COURT WILL DO ABOUT BIRTHRIGHT CITIZENSHIP

Very relevant to the Pedo President’s wanting to end birth right
citizenship.

Very good article on general strike potential.

Let us not forget the massive sliding strikes of (mainly) CIO unions
in late 1945 - early 1946. Now we'd want to include a wider range of
organizations, of course, some of whom could be knockin' doors and
speaking at group meetings, etc., while awaiting their group's
scheduled turn. Much thought and preparation needed within a somewhat
loose leadership.

Just sayin'

I will not patronize a Starbucks store until and unless a contract is
signed:  perhaps there are others like me who patronize union shops
whenever possible - and there are a lot of other "posibles" out there.

RE: SIX MYTHS ABOUT RURAL AMERICA: HOW CONVENTIONAL WISDOM GETS IT
WRONG

FACT:  when the media talks about "America's farmers" and "family
farmers", it's bull. As of the 1990 Census, "family farmer" was "no
longer a recognized occupation" because it was under 1.5% of the
population. Those "farmers" are agribusiness. What's left are what are
referred to as "hobby farms" (like the one a couple of friends of mine
have in se Indiana). They *all* work outside the farm.

I posted this elsewhere, and one response noted that what happens on
top of that is that the kids go to cities for more education; they may
come back, but 70% leave permanently. This, along with shuttering of
local hospitals and manufacturing means that what's happening is the
depopulation of rural America.

RACIST DOUCHENOZZLE - WHAT DID TRUMP'S MRI RESULTS REVEAL?  --
CARTOON AND COMMENTARY BY CLAY JONES

We will never truly know what Donald Trump's MRI results revealed
because we can't trust anything that comes out of this White House.

Trump's doctor said that the orange one had an MRI imaging of his
heart and abdomen in October as part of a preventative screening for
men his age. The physical exam included “advanced imaging,” which
is “standard for an executive physical” in Trump’s age group.
The doctor concluded that the cardiovascular and abdominal imaging was
“perfectly normal.”

I call bullshit. There is there is nothing that comes out of this
administration that is “perfectly normal.” And you would need
advanced imaging to find his heart. You would probably have to put him
right in front of the Hubble Telescope to find his brain.

Trump said, “It was just an MRI. What part of the body? It wasn’t
the brain because I took a cognitive test and I aced it.” Yeah, it
doesn't work like that.

Doctors typically order an MRI to help with diagnosing symptoms or to
monitor an ongoing health problem. So-called “preventive” cardiac
and abdominal MRIs are not part of routine screening recommendations.
This so-called “executive” physical means it was special treatment
for Donald Trump. Maybe Snoop Dogg sold him some extended body parts
insurance.

You have never had an MRI as some sort of bonus or something extra on
an exam. Do you wanna know why? Because an MRI is expensive, and your
insurance company is not going to cover it just because the doctor
wants to hunt for stuff that isn't giving any signs. Only very wealthy
people have MRIs for shits and giggles. This is another example of
Donald Trump being out of touch with people being hurt by his
inflation and careening economy. I believe they were hunting for
something, but they're not gonna tell us what that was.

During Trump's first term, there was a mysterious visit to the
hospital, which was explained as a physical being broken up into two
parts, which is a lie. You can't trust doctors who claim that Donald
Trump only weighs 215 pounds. You can't trust doctors who claim that
Donald Trump passed a cognitive test.

This White House cannot explain the weird bruises on Donald Trump's
hands that he keeps putting makeup over. You can't trust this White
House when they keep telling us that Trump is full of energy while he
keeps falling asleep in public.

I don't wish bad health on anyone, even a douchenozzle like Donald
Trump. I did not do that previously, but I am especially not going to
do it after the experience of suffering a stroke. I'm not going to
make any predictions about what will happen to Donald Trump
healthwise, because I think it’s bad karma that can bounce back onto
you. I'm also not going to engage in any conspiracy theories about his
health. But it's obvious this White House is hiding something about
Donald Trump's health.

Zohran Mamdani’s victory is a breakthrough moment for the socialist
movement in the United States. It still feels unbelievable:
America’s largest city is about to be led by a young socialist, a
_Jacobin_ subscriber, and a committed member of Democratic Socialists
of America. The Left will be occupying the municipal executive office
in one of the world’s biggest cities.

But the contradictions we face are sharp, and the limits of executive
office are real: hostile state government; pressure from capital; the
political and economic challenges of raising revenue to fund essential
programs.

These are not new problems. They are the same challenges faced by
progressive and socialist parties here and abroad when they first
entered municipal office.

In this issue, we examine the history of municipal socialism, from
“Red Vienna” to French and Italian Communist mayors after World
War II to Milwaukee’s sewer socialists, La Guardia’s New Deal
metropolis, and Ken Livingstone in London. How has the Left used local
power to expand housing, welfare, and cultural institutions? And why
did they so often run aground on fiscal constraints and central state
hostility?

The socialist left often won legitimacy in office, but also faced
demobilization or the risk of being reduced to managers of austerity.
The task for this issue is to draw out important lessons while staying
optimistic about this truly transformational moment in power.

Zohran’s election is the most exciting moment for American
socialists in generations. But to take advantage of it, we must
clarify what municipal power can realistically achieve under
capitalism and how it might serve as a stepping stone toward building
working-class institutions and winning state and national
breakthroughs both in New York and beyond.

This is a must-read issue for every socialist. SUBSCRIBE TODAY TO MAKE

The Trump Administration and Vladimir Putin’s regime want to impose
an imperialist peace on Ukraine, a partition of its sovereign
territory that rewards Russian colonial aggression. Against all odds,
Ukraine’s working class has sustained the popular and military
struggle for self-determination, sacrificing life and limb and putting
extreme strain on its healthcare system, alleviated to an extent by
the heroic work of harm reduction activists in limiting the spread of
infectious diseases.

Nurses and healthcare workers have had to face excruciating working
conditions and long hours. To address this emergency, the Ukraine
Solidarity Network has launched a campaign to raise funds for the
independent Ukrainian nurses’ union, Be Like We Are, to pay for
essential life-saving equipment for hospitals. Now is the time for
solidarity and material support for Ukraine.
