Hello! 

On this day in 1848, a group of brave women who were motivated for change gathered for a two-day convention in Seneca Falls, NY. This became known as the first-ever women's rights convention.

These brave trailblazers paved the way for future feminists and equal rights for women in education, property ownership, and of course, voting.

Over 150 years later, the feminist movement looks much different. While it has grown tremendously since Seneca Falls, there is still work to be done to ensure ALL women are equally represented — women of color, LGBTQ+ women, immigrant women, disabled women, and the list goes on.

I’ve fought against the patriarchy my entire life, regardless of the position I held, and I hope that today we can honor the women of Seneca Falls who shaped our country as we unite together to elevate one another in our continued fight for true equality ahead.
