TOMORROW: Strike for Black Lives >>
Join a protest or pledge to take a moment of silence
John,
Tomorrow will be a day of reckoning. Thousands of people will join in the #StrikeforBlackLives by going on strike, showing up to a protest, or holding a moment of silence at noon for 8 minutes and 46 seconds.*
I'll be going on strike in Tampa because our old "normal" was never designed to work for me, or for a lot of people I know.
I need YOU to stand with me and others going on strike to demand racial and economic justice.
Days like tomorrow are about speaking truth to power, rising up together in ways that are so big and so bold that nobody can ignore us. That's how we win.
And we'll be joined by allies from across the country, like the Movement for Black Lives, Working Families Party, and the Future Coalition.
We ALL have a role to play tomorrow, even those who aren't going on strike. While we're in the street, I'm counting on you to watch closely and amplify our voices as far as possible.
I'm proud to have you with us.

* On May 25th, 2020, a Minneapolis police officer kneeled on George Floyd's neck for 8 minutes and 46 seconds and killed him. By walking out for this amount of time, we honor George Floyd's life and the countless others taken too soon by systemic racism and police violence. They should be alive. George should be alive.
