Improving the Campus Climate for College Students: ADL, the Louis D. Brandeis Center for Human Rights Under Law and Hillel International announced a settlement
with Pomona College in California to resolve claims that the college permitted severe discrimination and harassment of Jewish students in violation of Title VI of the Civil Rights Act. This comprehensive settlement will resolve the complaint the organizations filed in 2024, which described antisemitic hostility and discrimination skyrocketing on Pomona’s campus following 10/7. Pomona agreed to adopt significant campus reforms to address antisemitism and improve anti-discrimination protections for Jewish and Israeli students. As ADL’s Jonathan Greenblatt observed, the agreement is “a critical turning point for Pomona’s Jewish students, faculty, and staff. The
comprehensive reforms negotiated with Pomona touch nearly every aspect of campus life.” Learn more about the settlement.
Strengthening International Partnerships to Combat Antisemitism:
This week, ADL’s International Affairs Team convened a groundbreaking Consular Roundtable, bringing together Consuls General and Deputy Consuls General from 12 countries for critical dialogue on combating antisemitism and extremism. This meeting fostered collaboration between diplomatic missions and ADL’s expertise, creating new pathways for international cooperation on issues affecting Jewish communities worldwide. The agenda featured presentations from the ADL Center on Extremism on monitoring global extremist threats targeting Jewish and other marginalized communities, insights from the Deputy Consul General of France on their national strategy to combat
antisemitism and an overview from ADL’s NY/NJ Regional Director Scott Richman on the current landscape in New York. Read more about international antisemitism concerns in ADL’s Global 100 Report.
EVENT: Faith, Family and Football:
You are invited to ADL’s next Game Changers event, as we welcome former NFL offensive lineman Geoff Schwartz and his father, Lee Schwartz, on Tuesday, Dec. 16 at 7 p.m. ET / 4 p.m. PT for a candid conversation about Jewish identity, family and resilience. Geoff spent eight seasons in the NFL and became, along with his brother Mitchell, the first Jewish siblings in the NFL since the 1920s. Today, he’s a national sports commentator. Lee will share the parent’s perspective from his book Raising Giants, reflecting on raising two Jewish athletes. The program will include a Q&A, so come with your questions.

Winter Holidays: December Dilemma or Teaching Opportunity?
Winter is a festive time. ADL's Education team explains how schools can take steps to make all children feel included. Whether it's making sure that a holiday concert has Christmas, Hanukkah and Kwanzaa songs, or decisions about holiday decorations or sharing traditions, the goal is to communicate that all holidays are a valid expression of cultural and religious pride. Read more from ADL about how schools can make this a time for joy.
