I’m Nicol, the Mental Health Manager at Immigrants Rising.
This year has been especially difficult for undocumented immigrants in the country. Many battles about immigrant safety and immigrant futures in the U.S. are largely known at the political level, but we know that harmful policies, raids, detention, deportation, and the removal of hard-fought, inclusive policies deeply affect each one of us and our well-being.
John, there is a critical need to be there for our undocumented students, friends, relatives, coworkers, and neighbors right now. And they deserve to be supported by people who get what it’s like. Our mental health programs at Immigrants Rising—Wellness Support Groups ([link removed]) , Mental Health Connector ([link removed]) , and Mental Health Career Program ([link removed]) —ensure that our community members are held and nurtured through these uncertain times. These programs provide the support undocumented individuals and aspiring therapists need so they can be well, continue their day-to-day, pursue their goals, and join the fight for immigrants everywhere.
