In December, 1932, Dr. Akiva Posner watched with horror as a flag with the hated Nazi swastika was raised outside his window, directly opposite his home in the German city of Kiel.

He and his family summoned up the courage and defiance to light a conspicuous menorah in their window directly opposite Nazi headquarters.

I recently stumbled upon a video of our hostages in the terror tunnels of Gaza, who used a cigarette lighter to ignite their makeshift Chanukiah.

We will never allow the ray of our proud people's light to be extinguished.
