When I saw Trump’s latest attacks on Ilhan and the Somali-American community, my heart dropped — not just because of how hateful and dangerous they were, but because I know this playbook far too well.

For months now, one of Trump’s closest allies — a GOP Congressman — has been pushing a public campaign against me, at first for acknowledging my Guatemalan roots, and more recently because he was outraged by my demands of accountability from the unhinged and rogue agency that is DHS and ICE.

That’s the same cruelty, the same bigotry, and the same attempt to intimidate women of color in Congress that Trump has been and continues to unleash on Ilhan.

Stand with me and Ilhan as we take on these extremist Republicans.

When Trump is threatened, he targets immigrants. He targets people of color. He targets Muslim Americans. And he targets the women who refuse to bow to him.

But here’s what they always underestimate:

We do not scare easily.
We do not back down.
And we do not fight alone.
While they try to divide us with fear, we build solidarity. While they spread hate, we organize. While they weaponize government against our communities, we build movements powerful enough to hold them accountable.

I stand with Ilhan in this fight. Not just because we share values, but because we’ve both experienced the consequences of standing up to Trump’s fascist posturing. And I am asking you to stand with us now.

If you’re able, split a donation between Ilhan’s campaign and mine. Every dollar helps us build the grassroots power we need to defeat Trump, protect our communities, and elect leaders who will never waver in the face of injustice.

Together, we will out-organize their hate, we will defend our communities, and we will win against their extremist agenda.

In Solidarity,
