John,
As I look back on this past year, I’m filled with gratitude for this care movement – growing stronger not in the absence of challenge, but in the face of it. Together.
Before we turn the page to 2026, I want to pause and honor how this movement has flourished – becoming deeper, more connected, and more determined than ever. Here are just a few of the ways that care advocates like you, John, showed up this year:
- We engaged more people than ever before. In 2025, we reached more than a billion people online to spread the word about why care programs like Medicaid matter to our families and communities.
- We connected people who care with ways to act. This movement came together to generate more than 30,000 calls and messages to Congress, urging our leaders to protect our care programs.
- We elevated stories that needed to be heard. We held a 60-hour Medicaid vigil in front of Congress after members passed vicious cuts to Medicaid, Medicare, and the ACA – shining a spotlight on the faces and stories behind this movement.
- We met audiences where they are to shift the narrative around care. Through our Hollywood partnerships, we’ve helped shape new, more authentic stories about aging, and disability care, including in HBO Max’s hit series The Pitt and countless others.
- We brought new leaders into the care movement. Your advocacy helped us develop 25 new champions in Congress, who’ll proudly speak out on the need for more investments in care – not less.
- We seeded the future of this movement. We brought hundreds of care advocates together for CareFest to envision a brighter future for care – and map the pathway to get there.

It hasn’t been an easy year – but looking at what we’ve accomplished together gives me so much hope. Change is a long road, and every action along the way – every conversation, every act of care, every new voice at the table – is a seed that we’ve planted. When I look back to see what we’ve grown, I see a movement in full bloom.
Make no mistake: a more caring world is taking root, and it’s because of you, John. Thank you for everything you made possible this year – I’m so proud to be on your team.
With care,
Nicole
