Keith Ellison ran for Attorney General to make sure Minnesotans can afford their lives and live with dignity, safety, and respect — not to pick political fights. But when the president and his administration broke the law this year, Keith did what Minnesotans elected him to do: he stepped up, he stood firm, and he took them to court.
As we look back on 2025, Keith has been one of the country’s strongest defenders of the rule of law. This year alone, he joined more than 40 lawsuits against the Trump administration and delivered major victories for families across our state, including:
- Forcing Trump to provide full SNAP benefits to millions of Americans and 440,000 Minnesotans
- Restoring more than $75 million in funding for Minnesota schools
- Stopping Trump’s efforts to dismantle the Department of Education and other agencies that provide critical services
- Blocking agencies from illegally sharing highly sensitive data, including Medicaid and SNAP information, with ICE
- Protecting billions in federal funding for public health, clean energy, and emergency services
Keith also never hesitates to hold powerful corporations accountable when they put Minnesotans at risk. This year, he sued TikTok for preying on kids, Fleet Farm for selling to straw purchasers, and Glock for manufacturing handguns that can easily be turned into illegal machine guns. He helped secure a historic $7.4 billion settlement from Purdue Pharma and won millions from JUUL to curb underage tobacco and nicotine use.
It’s been a year of enormous challenges — and enormous consequences — but Keith never backed down. He will keep fighting for us. But to continue standing up to Donald Trump and the special interests lining up behind him, he needs all of us with him.
