Over the last week Florida set multiple new records for positive COVID cases in a single day. According to the Florida Department of Health, our state confirmed 83,000 cases over the last seven days, 25% of the total count. The situation does not seem to be improving as we have now surpassed 5,000 deaths.
So how did Matt Gaetz respond to this disturbing news?
Gaetz spent time on Fox News praising Donald Trump and his handling of the Coronavirus.
This is a new low, even for Gaetz. Americans are frustrated, scared, and above all looking for leadership, yet Matt Gaetz is unable to rise above his need to please Donald Trump. Once again, Gaetz put Trump ahead of the people he was elected to serve.
Matt Gaetz is using misinformation to hide the truth about his party's disastrous response to the Coronavirus. He's also intentionally escalating the culture war to create political division and distract his base.
