Maine’s Outdoor Economy Summit is
January 21-23, 2026 in Portland, ME
Maine’s outdoors play a defining role in our state’s economy, culture, and way of life. Every year, outdoor recreation in Maine supports thousands of jobs, sustains local businesses, and strengthens the communities that welcome residents and visitors to hunt, fish, hike, paddle, snowmobile, camp, and explore.
The Maine Outdoor Economy Summit brings together leaders from across the outdoor recreation and business communities to explore the future of Maine’s outdoor economy. It is a dynamic forum for sharing ideas, building partnerships, and discussing practical tools to advance economic resilience, workforce development, access in the outdoor sector. Sessions will span topics from career pathways and community infrastructure to cross-border trade and emerging trends shaping outdoor recreation.
We are proud to be part of the Summit experience again this year, including leading an Ice Safety Training session. Attendees will also enjoy a keynote presentation from Robin Thurston, CEO of Outside Interactive Inc. as well as networking opportunities that spark innovation and collaboration across sectors.
