EDC Congressional Maps In our last newsletter, we shared a statewide view of the new CA congressional districts. As previously mentioned, El Dorado County representation has increased from two congressional districts (CD3 & CD5) to three (CD3, CD5 & CD7). Above are the detailed maps of these redrawn districts. With these district changes the midterm candidate landscape has also shifted. We have new Democratic candidates entering the race as well as uncertainty around the final Republican lineup. (Specifically, Kevin Kiley has stated he will run but implied it might be in a different district.) In our January newsletter, we will provide you with the latest candidate line-up for each El Dorado County district. For any questions on your specific district, enter your address HERE. We will continue to update you as new information becomes available. Upcoming Events HELP NEEDED: Engage El Dorado Survey El Dorado Community Foundation is seeking community voices through our Engage El Dorado initiative on the topics of attainable housing and accessible transportation within El Dorado County. It is important that as much of the community as possible is represented in this feedback so that future policy enacted by the County can be developed with the community in mind. Through a collaborative approach between El Dorado County and the El Dorado Community Foundation, Engage El Dorado will center community voices, especially underrepresented populations, seeking to understand needs and connection between attainable housing and transportation access. The outcomes that we are striving to achieve with Engage El Dorado include community-centered engagement, collaborative planning & leadership, policy & strategy development, understanding equity as it pertains to access to housing & mobility, as well as transparency & impact, with the ultimate goal being County led long-term implementation of community driven solutions that fit the needs of El Dorado County. This outreach effort is in partnership with El Dorado County and paid for through a grant from Sacramento Area Council of Government. To take the survey in English, click HERE. The El Dorado Opportunity Knocks Continuum of Care (CoC), in partnership with El Dorado County Health and Human Services, is planning the 2026 Point-in-Time (PIT) Count. They're looking for volunteers to assist with the 2026 PIT Count on the morning of January 29th. The PIT Count is a Federally required, nation-wide count of sheltered and unsheltered people experiencing homelessness. This essential effort helps us better understand the needs of people experiencing homelessness and ensures our community receives appropriate resources and funding. Your participation would make a meaningful impact. We depend on teams of volunteers to canvas our community and ensure that all our neighbors experiencing homelessness are counted. No prior experience is necessary—training will be provided, and volunteers will work in pairs or small groups. You can sign up or learn more at [link removed]. Thank you in advance for considering this, and please don’t hesitate to reach out with any questions to
