"With the election weeks away, right-wing donors are wielding their hate to fund Rep. Ilhan Omar’s primary opponent."

Friend,
Republican billionaire bullies and the unjust status quo are coming for my sister-in-service Rep. Ilhan Omar.
Since being elected, Ilhan has consistently fought for big structural changes to address systemic inequalities in education, healthcare, housing, and the economy. As she challenges the status quo, the xenophobic, misogynist, and Islamophobic attacks from GOP donors keep increasing.
Ilhan’s Democratic primary election is just a week after ours, and she's getting outspent. Last fundraising quarter, Ilhan’s average contribution was $18. She relies on the power of the grassroots. But out-of-state wealthy right-wing donors literally want to see anyone in office other than a progressive Black Muslim woman, and they’re sending her opponent a lot of cash—at an average of $650 per contribution, raising $3.3 million in the past few weeks alone.
As Ilhan tweeted: “Trump and his campaign don’t only have a problem with me and people who look like me—they are threatened by our growing progressive movement. So much so their donors are even funding our Democratic establishment opponents’ campaigns.”
Rep. Omar’s primary is just one week after mine―and both are fast approaching. Will you join me in having Rep. Ilhan Omar’s back and sending her back to Congress to fight alongside me?
If you've saved your payment information with ActBlue Express, your secure donation will go through immediately, split evenly between Rashida and Ilhan:
As Ilhan’s Deputy Communications Director said, “It isn’t surprising that billionaire corporate donors are targeting Rep. Omar, just like they targeted Rep. Ocasio-Cortez and Jamaal Bowman. But what is surprising is the degree to which this money is fueled by Islamophobia, xenophobia, and misogyny.”1
As it turns out, one PAC supporting Ilhan’s opponent “is a major source of campaign cash for top Republicans… including over $160,000 [donated] to Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell.”2 That’s alarming.
These attacks are motivated by hate. Republican donors are threatened by our bold progressive movement, and they want to tear us down. We can’t let that happen, so will you join me in fighting for Ilhan and our movement?
Pitch in today to support my sister-in-service, Rep. Ilhan Omar and make sure she continues fighting alongside us in Congress.
Thank you for always having my back and for joining me in supporting Ilhan today.
Rashida
