John,
This week, I officially ended my campaign for U.S. Senate and filed to run for Congress in Texas’ 33rd Congressional District.
I didn’t come to this decision lightly – I’ve put everything I had into my Senate campaign over the last five months, traveling to every corner of the state, talking to as many Texans as I could, building on the incredible grassroots campaign we started last year.
While it was clear that many Texans were ready to support me to the end, it was also clear that the Democratic primary would end up in a bruising and costly runoff in May. And if we want to prevent another MAGA loyalist from representing our state for six more years, that’s simply a risk we can’t afford to take.
So, today I am announcing my campaign to represent the newly drawn 33rd district in Texas. If you’d still like to see me head to Washington in November, I hope you’ll consider splitting a donation between me and The Majority Rules to get my new campaign off to a strong start today.
