Hi Friend,
Over 1.8 billion adults worldwide live with presbyopia, age-related vision loss that typically begins in their forties. As the world slips out of focus, daily tasks – sorting stones from beans, repairing torn fabric, reading medicine labels – become real constraints.
These small losses compound into a $25 billion global economic burden. Despite this scale, presbyopia remains one of the most neglected problems in global health.
The solution costs just 80 cents. A single pair of reading glasses can deliver immediate results. Yet millions of adults can't access them – especially in places where they'd have the greatest impact.
That's why we’re piloting reading glasses distribution in Uganda this year, testing which delivery models could scale nationwide.
