Monday marked a major milestone for Texas: the filing deadline for the 2026 elections. And we have some exciting news to share:
Democrats have stepped up to run in EVERY Congressional race, State Senate race, and State House race on the ballot.
We can’t find another time where this has happened. From Jasmine Crockett and James Talarico to the hundreds of other candidates who filed for races up and down the ballot, Texas Democrats are putting their names forward to fight for a better future.
That didn’t happen by accident or by luck. It happened because people in every part of this state are tired of extremists chipping away at our rights, our representation, our health and well-being, and our communities. These candidates know we deserve better—and they’re answering the call.
But now comes the hard part.
Filing to run is just the beginning. Powered by People will be there to help whoever emerges from these primaries win.
We’ll be organizing on the ground, making calls, sending texts, registering voters, holding community events, and turning out voters in every region—rural, suburban, and urban—to make sure these candidates have the support they need to compete and win up and down the ballot.
We have the candidates.
We have the momentum.
Now we need the resources to power this work.
