John - Gun owners across the country are facing a troubling betrayal from someone who claims to be on our side.

AG Pam Bondi has repeatedly described herself as a strong defender of the Second Amendment. She tells Americans that, under her leadership, the DOJ is committed to protecting our rights.

But when it comes to one of the most unconstitutional laws still on the books, the National Firearms Act, Bondi is doing the opposite of defending your freedoms.

Bondi’s DOJ is actively defending the NFA in court, standing behind a law that forces gun registration, restricts access to commonly owned firearms and accessories, and has been used for decades as a tool of federal overreach. 

Even after Congress eliminated the excise tax, her attorneys are insisting that the “$0 NFA tax” is still valid, and they’re using sweeping interpretations of the Commerce Clause and Necessary and Proper Clause to keep the entire NFA system intact.

This is not the behavior of a Second Amendment champion. It’s the behavior of an Attorney General defending government power.

GOA has been warning that this legal position doesn’t just preserve the NFA — it opens the door to an even broader federal firearms registry. If the government can maintain registration requirements without even a tax to justify them, then the potential for abuse grows exponentially.

Bondi has publicly promised that the DOJ will “use its full might to protect the Second Amendment.” But the reality is that she’s using that same “full might” to preserve and defend a 90-year-old gun control law that has no place in a free society.

John, GOA isn’t backing down. We are fully engaged in litigation to strike down the NFA once and for all. We’re exposing the contradictions in the DOJ’s arguments, we’re informing gun owners across the country, and we’re mobilizing the grassroots to stand up against this dangerous overreach.
