John, last Friday, our JanePAC climate champion from Arizona, Congresswoman Adelita Grijalva, was pepper-sprayed by masked ICE agents in Tucson.
Her “crime”? Asking questions and standing up for her community.
We REFUSE to stay silent about this.

Adelita was on her way to lunch at a local mom-and-pop shop in her district when she learned ICE was conducting a raid. She identified herself as a Member of Congress and demanded more information – the kind any elected official should ask when their constituents may be at risk.
ICE pushed her aside and pepper-sprayed her.
Think about that for a moment.
If federal agents are brazen enough to attack a sitting Member of Congress in broad daylight, in her own district, in front of her own community, imagine what happens to the people with no title, no camera, and no protection?
When JanePAC endorsed Adelita Grijalva during her contested primary, we knew that she was going to be a fierce climate justice champion who was not afraid to speak truth to power. The first bill Adelita introduced when she was FINALLY sworn in is to protect the sacred Oak Flat from a foreign mining company — a cultural and religious site of critical importance to Tribal communities. And last week, she stood toe to toe with the Trump Administration and even put her own safety on the line for others.
This is exactly why we work to elect leaders like Adelita. Leaders who will call out Trump’s authoritarian agenda, stand up to MAGA Republicans like Speaker Mike Johnson, and fight like hell for their communities.
Adelita isn't backing down. Neither are we. This fight is far from over.
In solidarity,
Team JanePAC
