Liberal Democrats

Welcome to your July newsletter!

It's been a busy month for the Liberal Democrats. In Parliament we've been taking on the government over their coronavirus response and standing up for those who've been left out of financial support schemes. We've launched our very own online policy discussion platform exclusively for Liberal Democrat members. And, of course, our leadership election has gotten underway. Find out about all this and more in this month's Liberal Democrat newsletter.

Experience, judgement and vision

I am so grateful for the huge number of people who have backed my record of taking on the Tories, and my vision for a fairer, more caring and greener society.

I have received nearly 60% of nominations, I have been backed by the majority of our Parliamentary party, 13 of our 16 former MEPs, and the majority of our Council Leaders across the country.

I have a plan to renew our party from within and start to regain the trust of voters again. That’s why I should be the next Leader of the Liberal Democrats.

72 Years of World Class Care

Coronavirus has reinvigorated the country's admiration for the NHS. Medical staff have put their lives on the line tackling this pandemic, and they deserve better than what they're getting from the Conservatives. As we mark 72 years of world class care, here's our message to the NHS on its birthday.

Standing Up for the Left Behind

Three million hard working people have been left out of the government's financial response to the coronavirus crisis. Liberal Democrat MP Jamie Stone has founded an All Party Parliamentary Group to speak up for those who have been left to fend for themselves with no government support. The group made history as it held Parliament's biggest ever inaugural meeting, with Liberal Democrat MPs leading the fight for those the government has left behind.
