A Democrat hasn’t been elected as Texas AG since 1994…. Until now! [View this email in your browser.]([link removed]

John,
Exactly how do we plan on winning the Texas AG race? Given the history, that’s a fair question.
We get it. The last time a Democrat won the Texas AG race was in 1994. But Nathan Johnson hasn’t lost a single election, and we don’t plan on losing this one.
Our campaign relies on grassroots donations from people like you. **That’s why our average donation is only $23.81**. **[Will you chip in $23.81 or anything you can to help us start building the historic grassroots movement we need to elect Nathan Johnson as Texas Attorney General?]([link removed]

We have the **momentum** and **energy** to replace Ken Paxton with someone who can restore the purpose of the Office of the Attorney General, but it’s going to take hard work from all of us to elect the first Democratic Texas AG in three decades, **[starting with reaching our goal of $100,000 before the first of the year.]([link removed]
The 🌊 blue wave we’re seeing across the country — the election of Democrats with different styles and approaches in different places, including mayors in NYC and Miami (Eileen Higgins, elected just yesterday), and governors in New Jersey and Virginia — is real.
While Texas is its own kind of place, it’s happening here too, and we’re on track to make history in 2026.
Let’s start by explaining the situation: Texas Republicans have spent decades rigging the system through extreme partisan and racial gerrymandering, voter suppression, propaganda, and disinformation. The result has been disenchantment and disenfranchisement among Democrats.
Over the last few electoral cycles, millions of Democrats decided that their votes didn’t matter. *They stayed home.*
**But John, there’s a different feeling now, a sense that Democrats can win. And *that’s* what makes the wave.** It’s similar to 2018, but stronger. We’re seeing it in real time around Texas, in local elections and special elections, in political giving, in polling, in political organizing – in every political measure.
Texas Democrats (like Nathan!) have seen the greatest success by building campaigns that **(1)** mobilize people the system has ignored and **(2)** form large-tent coalitions with voters of all persuasions who’ve realized our current leaders just aren’t delivering.
Ask anybody here and they'll tell you that Nathan embodies that Lone Star independent spirit. He's not afraid to hold anyone accountable, regardless of party or power. In four terms as a Texas State Senator, Nathan has delivered for working Texans and championed our Democratic agenda by battling the Republican supermajority at every turn. He's shown up and shown that *true leaders* demand accountability, honesty, and integrity.
So here’s our plan and what we’re doing ***right now*** to build towards victory: There are **254 counties in Texas** and we want to invest in communities, organizers, and volunteers in *every single one* of them so we can leverage our grassroots power. We’re building the infrastructure we need to get the word out about Nathan’s victories, accomplishments, and vision — it’s a message that will win in Texas — but we can’t do this without you.
Here’s how you can help: **[Can you match our average donation of $23.81? Anything you can contribute helps. If enough folks chip in, our strength grows into a history-shattering movement, so we’re setting a goal to raise $100,000 before the end of the month.]([link removed]

By November of next year, we will shock the country, take a historic stand for democracy, and show everyone that Texas Democrats know how to fight **and** win.
Let’s get to work.
