I know you probably find the arrival of this email less than thrilling. But there’s a good reason why my team and I have been reaching out to you more often than usual lately:

In a matter of weeks, our team will face its final fundraising deadline before Kansas Republicans officially hold their vote to gerrymander me out of Congress.

I am absolutely determined to reach our goal and show the Kansas GOP that this movement won’t go away quietly. That we’re ready to fight until the very last minute for our democracy and our future. If you’re with me, use this link to make your $3 contribution before midnight.

But if you need a little more context before chipping in, let me explain why it is genuinely important that we reach this goal at the end of the year.

First of all, our numbers will go public after this deadline. If they look weak, Kansas Republicans will know — and it’ll give them one big, extra reason to plow forward with Trump’s gerrymander.

But if our numbers look strong? If thousands and thousands of supporters like you chip in to show your support? Kansas Republicans will notice that too — and they’ll back off their gerrymander once and for all.

This amazing grassroots team is what’s allowed us to win four consecutive elections in a competitive district. And with a strong showing tonight, I feel more confident than ever that we can keep it going.

We can take down Trump’s gerrymander. We can hold this seat in November. And we can do our part here in Kansas to flip control of Congress.
