Dear Friend,
You know that rapid global population growth is a monumental problem. It affects us all … and our chances of a sustainable future on a livable planet. And yet, by changing just one life at a time, we can stabilize global population. Together, we can turn the tide on some of our environment’s most pressing challenges, such as climate change, deforestation, biodiversity loss, water scarcity … the list goes on.
Our Global Partners initiative recognizes that small, simple steps can tackle enormous issues. Each person who makes more sustainable decisions in life can have ripple effects across their families, communities, and our planet.
Girls who attend school are more likely to delay marriage and child-bearing. While we might take universal primary school for granted in the U.S., girls don’t share the same opportunities worldwide. Seemingly small solutions such as removing barriers to girls’ education and improving access to family planning options have an outsized impact on people’s lives and our world.
That’s one reason why we have been so fortunate to partner with organizations focused on girls’ education, including Nasaruni Academy for Maasai Girls, which provides schooling for disadvantaged girls in rural Narok, Kenya.
