In yesterday’s elections, Democrats broke the almost three decade Republican hold on Miami’s mayorship and also took an unexpected ruby red State House seat in Georgia. If deep red Republican strongholds like Miami and Georgia are in play for Democrats, that means swing states like Michigan and Arizona are on track to go deep blue. However, just like MAGA’s plan to win the midterms by rigging them via redistricting, they’ve also got a plan to cheat their way out of losing states like Michigan, Georgia, and Arizona: Stealing their state supreme courts via obscure judicial elections. If these efforts are successful we could see something truly horrific happen on Election Night 2028. Imagine, it’s November 7th 2028 — Michigan, Arizona, and Georgia, are all called for Democrats in landslide blue wave victories and a Democrat wins the Presidency. However, in the following days state courts slowly but surely invalidate these Democratic victories citing a rehash of the 2020 election denial spiel (Soros, illegal immigrants voting, etc). Ultimately the Democratic presidential victory is nullified. Trump is declared the victor. It sounds like a nightmare and too dark to be true but this is exactly why MAGA is working overtime to steal these courts. Defend our Courts just foiled one of these attempts in Pennsylvania. Now MAGA is attempting the same playbook in AZ, MI, and GA this 2026 and we must mobilize once again. Obscure state supreme court races are not sexy, they are hard to fundraise for, but the stakes are life and death.
